Aurora - The Chicago Premium Outlet Mall boasts 120 upscale outlet stores such as Calvin Klein, Nike, Coach and Kate Spade. You’ll also enjoy fine dining and cultural activities. Brookfield - If you’re visiting with the family, don’t miss the Brookfield Zoo, home to 4,000 animals representing 425 species. Glencoe - The Chicago Botanic Garden is always in bloom, with year-round exhibits and tours of its 23 specialty gardens set among a series of islands and lakes. Gurnee - Bargain hunters, head to the Gurnee Mills outlet mall and shop more than 200 outlet and discount stores. Six Flags Great America is a paradise for thrill seekers, with more than 100 rides and roller coasters. Joliet - See the lobby of Joliet’s historic Rialto Square Theatre—it’s modeled after the Hall of Mirrors in the Palace of Versailles in France. Then head to the Chicagoland Speedway, a state-of-the-art motor sports facility hosting NASCAR, Winston Cup, and Indy Racing events. Lemont - The Cog Hill Golf & Country Club, a stop on the PGA tour, is a beautiful and challenging course just 30 miles southwest of Chicago. Oak Park - This suburb on the west border of the city boasts the world’s largest collection of Frank Lloyd Wright-designed buildings, as well as the birthplace of author Ernest Hemingway. Schaumburg - Visit Woodfield Mall, with more than 285 department, specialty stores and dining. Then catch a lively jousting tournament complete with heroic knights and stallions at Medieval Times. Chicago North Shore - The inviting communities of Evanston, Skokie, Wilmette and Northbrook border Chicago along Lake Michigan.
