Shopping

Chicago Premium Outlets feature 120 of the world's finest designer and brand names including Adidas, Benetton, Calvin Klein, Diesel, Gap Outlet, Giorgio Armani, MaxMara, Polo Ralph Lauren and many more, all offering savings of 25% to 65% every day. Daily transportation from downtown Chicago is available via Metra Rail. Complimentary vouchers redeemable for VIP Coupon Books worth hundreds of dollars of additional savings at participating stores are available to qualifying travel professionals (sold for $5 to general public). Macy's offers the Welcome International Savings Card, which is available in 10 languages and offers 11% savings in all Macy's stores for 30 days after validation. Stop by the Visitor Center at 111 N State Street or Water Tower Place for shopping assistance, tourist information and a coat/package check.

Water Tower Place is home to more than 100 specialty shops and restaurants, including Marshall Field's and Lord & Taylor, all wrapped around an eight-level atrium. Available to tour operators is the Ultimate Shopping Experience Passport, which offers exclusive savings at many stores. (Complimentary. Must present a valid ID.)

Westfield North Bridge features Nordstrom and 50 specialty shops with something for everyone! Visitors can stop by the concierge desk on level one and present a hotel room key, out-of-town driver's license or passport to receive a free Passport to North Bridge savings book. (Complimentary. Sightseeing

American Sightseeing Chicago offers a voucher program for its motor coach or trolley sightseeing tours. (Fee)

The Chicago Architecture Foundation offers architectural walking tours in French, German and Italian. (Seasonal)(Fee)

The free Chicago Greeter service offers visitors the chance to see the city through the eyes of a local resident. Greeters speaking twenty different languages are available. (Complimentary)


Attractions

The Art Institute of Chicago offers its 64-page Pocket Guide in Spanish, French, German and Japanese for a minimal charge. The book contains a detailed floor plan, color images, and an overview of the permanent collections. (Fee)

CityPass offers half-price admission to six of Chicago's top attractions. (Fee)

The Field Museum offers brochures and guides in six languages including French, Spanish and German. (Complimentary)

The Frank Lloyd Wright Home & Studio in Oak Park offers self-guided exterior audio tours of the National Historic District in English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, and Spanish. Translated text handouts of the interior studio tour are available in the same languages. (Fee)

The Hancock Observatory's Sky Tours gives you "inside" information on Chicago. The 16 recommended stops of one to three minutes each can be experienced in any order and at any pace. Tours are available in English, Spanish and German. Soundscopes (3-D talking telescopes) are also offered in French, Japanese and Spanish. The Sears Tower Skydeck offers InfoVision kiosks featuring Chicago's landmarks in English, German, Spanish, Japanese, French, Polish, Chinese and Italian. (Admission fee; language information service complimentary.)


Transportation

Continental Airport Express provides regular scheduled public transfers to area hotels and venues from both O'Hare International and Midway airports. (Fee)


Chicago's Best

"Chicago’s Best" is a special program offering discounts to the international traveler by participating retail, sightseeing and entertainment venues at no additional cost to tour operators. Chicago’s Best includes Chicago Trolley Co., The Field Museum, Giordano’s Pizzeria, Marshall Field’s, Sears Tower Skydeck, Shedd Aquarium, and Shoreline Sightseeing.
